Specific 2020 opportunities

We are providing hope in a difficult year. While we maintain our long term efforts that address the spiritual and physical needs of the Cambodian people, we have also provided assistance related to the coronavirus pandemic and flooding in Cambodia. Consider supporting FOH as we address these necessities.

Flooding Relief

In the months of September and October in Cambodia, terrible flooding took place due to heavy rainfall.

During the floods, FOH immediately took action to provide assistance to help the Cambodians recover and prevent famines.  Within a short time, 95 families in the most remote and poorly accessible areas were reached with emergency aid packages. The regional office in Pursat has also been under water for weeks. Many educational materials have been lost and means of transport have also suffered considerable damage.

Crops in the affected areas have been lost. FOH offers aid in the form of agricultural stimulation projects such as rice banks, savings banks and advice from local governments.

Aid started directly from Fountain of Hope's limited financial reserves. Right now, a substantial financial injection is needed to be able to continue to provide much-needed help.

Coronavirus Training

In the early days of the virus, FOH worked with the Ministry of Health in the area of COVID-19 education and prevention in all the different regions where FOH is working. We also discovered how to Zoom and used this time for capacity building and one-on-one teaching/mentoring/discipling.

We have gotten very creative in reaching out to the community. We are active in all the areas that we usually are, but in a way that is safe.
